This is an interesting look at how and why Community Foundations have joined forces to become better and more effective. Last year, I visited with the director of a CF that was working successfully with this sort of project. They were supplying "back office support" for some CF's in neighboring communities. One of the interesting considerations involves the role that compliance with National Standards plays in moving small CF's toward involvement in a regional alliance. It will be interesting to see how the GMACF moves ahead, either by itself or in cooperation with other foundations..
