The West Wisconsin Dynamo U-19 boys soccer team began its inaugural season Saturday with a 3-2 victory of the St. Paul Blackhawks at River Heights Elementary in Menomonie. Alex McCracken of Hayward and Tyler Drinkwine of Amery gave the Dynamo a 2-1 halftime lead. The Blackhawks tied the game late in the second half, but Phong Yang of Menomonie passed to Drinkwine, who scored the game-winning goal with less than five minutes remaining.

Two days later, the Dynamo suffered a disappointing 7-0 loss to Bloomington at Phelan Park in Menomonie. Although Dynamo goalkeeper Pat Glapa, of Menomonie, made several spectacular saves, the team was unable to match the intensity and skill of the opposing team.
