From my brother in the silicon valley:
today I cruised home after cantoring at the 12:30 Mass at St. Jo's with the top down and the tunes blasting, beneath a glorious blue sky and temperatures in the low 70s. One bright spot in an otherwise grim scene here.
(grim refers to the economy of course) And my email response:
the temp actually hit 44F on Saturday... I walked down my snow-covered driveway and the stiff breeze was blowing 40 degree air at my face... I thought, this is the problem with living up here... you spend a 30 day period where the temp doesn't rise above freezing, and 40 honestly feels like a blast of warm air - it's like a form of mental illness... or a testimony of what you can get used to, if necessary.
