Sailboat - some new ownership...

Some of you have noticed Alison's artsy facebook profile picture, taken from a sunny position on the bow, one very nice fall day on Lake Wissota. I got home from my golf trip only to learn that she needed to be taken off the lake in 4 days. Patrick was a very helpful first mate, as we got her loaded onto the trailer and the mast taken down.

There are some extra pics - here, taken by the prior owner. Very very excited to get her wet first thing come spring time.

The ACE

There are some pictures from my trip to Bandon Dunes and a video on my profile page at facebook.

I made a hole in one during the practice round on Thursday September 31st - 17th hole at Bandon Crossings Golf Club. The strip of green in-between those two big bunkers is only about ten paces wide... Part of the fun was actually being able to see it go in the cup... the little blip of disappearance, what you wait for on every par three hole for more than 20 years...

So this would be a lesson in persistence I suppose. Got to celebrate with a favorite golfing buddy John Wesolek. (He was a favorite even before he became the witness to my ace.)

A weekend of competitive arguing

Laurie was selected President of the Moot Court Board at Univ. of Iowa Law... Alison and I traveled Iowa City a while back to watch her argue a moot case, in front of the actual Iowa State Supreme Court Justices.

It was quite an event, they are a tough crowd when it comes to trying to win an argument. A rich experience for Laurie. The Dad will never again think for a moment about winning an argument with the Daughter. She is finishing up a trip to Chicago this weekend, participating in a regional competition. From what I understand, they would advance to a next round in DC if successful there.
